HOW TO USE CHARTER 4-1-1
Matching Aircraft
Charter 4-1-1 matches your freight to aircraft (likely to fit the freight) listed from smallest to largest. Smaller aircraft tend to be cheaper than large aircraft. Also, slower aircraft tend to be cheaper than faster aircraft, a consideration when selecting prop vs. jet aircraft.
Choosing Airlines
Select the “Contact Carriers” link next to the aircraft type that meets your speed need. Scroll down the list of charter airlines and try first the ones based in the geographic area of your pickup. Click on the airline name link to see their phone numbers and email. If none have the aircraft available, go back to Charter 4-1-1 and try the next size aircraft. Contact as many airlines as you like, and choose the one with the best combination of price, time, and reliability.
Charter 4-1-1 Accuracy
Charter 4-1-1 is much more accurate than its leading competitor, not perfect but very powerful. Unlike the competition, this tool takes into account your total freight volume plus the size and weight of every piece. There are factors not taken into account by this version (exact shape of freight, floor bearing weight, etc.) so consult our experts if you feel your freight may fit a smaller aircraft. Charter 4-1-1 is a great first step tool that we use internally, and happily share with our charter à la carte Customers.
Freight Rotation
Can the piece be safely rotated (turned) so that the height becomes the length, etc.? The question is whether the piece can be turned and rest on its side without damage. If it can rotate, then a too-tall or too-wide piece may fit through the door of a smaller, cheaper aircraft.
Freight Break Down
Can the piece be safely removed from its current packaging or re-packaged so that the max size is smaller? For example, a pallet full of small boxes shrink-wrapped together could have the shrink-wrap removed to fit the boxes individually boxes inside the door of a smaller, cheaper aircraft.
Contacting Carriers Direct
The Air Charter Guide (ACG) publishes the air charter industry “yellow pages” and more. The ACG and 9-1-1 Air Charter are not affiliated in any way, and 9-1-1 is not responsible for the content or performance of their website. Charter 4-1-1 is a tool primarily used to calculate the right aircraft to fit your freight, and the “Contact Carriers” link is a convenience if you choose to directly contact airlines that list that type of aircraft in their fleet. |
